Absa Premiership side Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday announced that former assistant coach Rulani Mokwena has rejoined the club as part of Pitso Mosimane's technical team.
Sundowns said in a statement that Mokwena will travel to Rustenburg to join the first team squad in camp as soon as he has received the results of his Covid-19 test and is expected to join the team by the end of the week.
Mokwena previously spent more than three years with Masandawana before embarking joining Orlando Pirates as an assistant coach before serving as an interim head coach at both the Buccaneers and Chippa united.
"The President of Mamelodi Sundowns, Patrice Motsepe welcomed Mokwena back home to the Mamelodi Sundowns family as the club looks to reinforce the technical team as they continue to aspire to dominate in the CAF Champions League to earn the 2nd star for the club and beyond.
"Mokwena will add a new dimension to our already accomplished technical team and will make a valuable contribution to Sundowns," the club said.
Mosimane also welcomed back his former assistant on his official Twitter account as he reassembles the technical team who oversaw the club's Champions League triumph in 2016.
