LUNGSOD MARIKINA, Nob. 14 (PIA) - Bukas na ang taunang "Sapatos Festival" na matatagpuan sa tinaguriang "shoe Capital" ng bansa, ang lungsod Marikina.
May 48 footwear at leather-goods makers ang sumali sa festival ngayon taon na nagsimula noong Lunes, Nobyembre 11 at tatagal hanggang Disyembre 29, 2019 sa Marikina Freedom Park, harap ng city hall.
Ayon kay Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, makabibili ang publiko ng mga de-kalidad at abot-kayang sapatos, bag, sinturon at iba pang mga produktong gawa ng mga bihasang manggagawa mula sa Marikina.
Dagdag pa ni Teodoro na tampok sa festival ang mga talino sa paglikha at 'obra maestra' ng mga sapatero ng Marikina.
"Noon mga nakaraang panahon pa naman, kilala na ang Marikina sa paglikha ng mga magaganda at matitibay na sapatos at malaki ang naitutulong nito sa maunlad na ekonomiya ng lungsod," pahayag ni Teodoro.
Kalahok sa bazaar ang Philippine Footwear Federation Inc. na pinamumunuan ni Chairman Antonio Andres, may-ari ng kilalang Gibson's gayundin ang 71 taong gulang na si Orlando "Tatay Orly" na nakilala sa kanyang pag gawa ng sapatos na isinuot ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kanyang kauna-unahang State of the Nation Address.
